The Yuneec E-Go Cruiser is one of the best selling electric skateboards in today’s market. It is manufactured by the Chinese company Yuneec Technology, but don’t let that’ Chinese’ scare you off just yet. This skateboard offers a blend between elegance and sufficient speed. In addition, it is packed with an advanced ecological system, which will take you anywhere.
It offers a good balance between price and quality.
The Yuneec E-Go Cruiser is getting tons and tons of good reviews on Amazon, let’s take a look at this Boosted board like machine!

Design Of the Yuneec E-Go
As I already stated in the intro the Yuneec E-Go always made me think of the Boosted Boards. That is of course due to the beautiful orange black combination.
The shape of the board is ideal for long rides, a great board for smooth commuting.
The battery is put underneath the board, in a nice aerodynamic way.
I personally like the design, it certainly doesn’t scream Chinese knockoff( which it is not) and it will turn a few heads around.
Build Quality
The Yuneec E-Go Cruiser is made out of Canadian maple wood and offers a very flexible, but not too flexible, experience . The battery is designed in a way that when the board flexes, the battery flexes as well! Take a look at the following video:
The battery is packed in a water resistant housing, definitely a plus if you want to use it as a daily driver. The build quality resembles the price you pay, it’s OK overall but not extremely good.
Weight
It weighs 13.9 pounds (6.3 kg) and can be considered as one of the lighter skateboards available in the market. As a result, you will be able to carry around wherever you go without any hassle.
Motor
The board is driven by one brushless motor that has been designed by engineers who have over 10-years of experience in the aviation industry.
Speed
Speed isn’t the E-Go’s selling point. With 13 mph top speed it is far from the fastest board out there.
For a lot of riders 13 mph is fast enough but for the adrenaline junkies under us it could become a little boring after a while…
Battery Performance
The battery is conveniently placed inside a waterproof housing, so you don’t have to think twice before taking it out on rainy days.
The best thing about Yuneec E-Go Cruiser is its impressive battery life. Most of the electric skateboard out there on the market can only take you to about 6 miles with a full battery. However, Yuneec E-Go Cruiser can take you over 24 miles with one full charge.
The lifespan of the battery is according to Yuneec over 1000 charge cycles, which means 1000 times from a completely empty to a completely full battery.
The battery recharge time is also short in this model and you will be able to fully charge your battery within 5 hours.
Breaking and Safety
Having read almost every online customer review it is clear that on the aspect of breaking the Yuneec E-go is out-performed by its counterparts. It does feature regenerative breaking but that only benefits the battery.
Some may say that it is almost unsafe to use as a commute electric skateboard, when in traffic and you need to stop suddenly, the breaking system just not performs as well as should be…
Remote Control
The controller is used to accelerate and break, it also shows how much battery is left. It is well designed and people tend to like the intuitive way you control your board.
I got an app for that!
You can also use your iPhone or iPad to control this skateboard. All you need to do is to download the official E-Go application from iTunes and your ready to go. In fact the app is really well made and a nice bonus for you tech geeks out there.
Conclusion
The Yuneec E-Go cruiser is the perfect board to get started with electric skateboarding. It has a nice design (although very boosted board like, but we’ll let it slip :p) it handles well and even has an app.
But if you are going to use it as a daily driver you might want to reconsider… A lot if users have complained about the bad breaks on the board. This can be life threatening in traffic situations. If you really want to us an electric skateboard as a daily driver you might want to spend the extra buck and get an Evolve or a Boosted board.
If you just want to cruise and have fun with a electric skateboard once and a while and if 13mph is enough, it might be the perfect board for you!
