We got to say it as it is. The Evolve carbon street is a sexy board. In all-terrain as in street modus it just screams speed. The board is black and sleek looking. The all-terrain model has big 8″ wheels which easily conquers rough terrain. If your way home is less adventurous you can make it exciting with the street version which sports orange/purple Orangatang or green Abec wheels.
The deck is made out of the best quality carbon fiber and kevlar so you don’t need to worry about its durability. Therefore, you will get the opportunity to use this skateboard and travel across both longboard and terrain surfaces. If there are poor quality footpaths or roads around your area and you are willing to expose your new longboard to them, you can do it without any doubt in mind. It also features the Evolve super carve truck, allowing the rider to tweak the trucks according to the skill level. These trucks are double jointed making for a very surfy ride. This really is a board for those who love to carve!

Specifications

The Evolve Carbon Street is recognized as a rocket ship for the street due to its impressive specifications.
You are provided with the ability to alternate between all terrain setups and typical longboard setups based on your specific requirements.
The carbon street weighs in at 18.7 lbs (8.5 kg). The All-Terrain version weighs 23 lbs (10.5 kg) which is not too heavy but certainly not the lightest board. The board can handle 220 lbs/ 100 kg of weight.

In street version the board tops 24 mph (38 km/h) and 22 mph (35 km/h) in all terrain mode. This is very fast to say the least!

Motor: You lose some

Evolve carbon street motor

One 350 W motor which can drive the board up to 22 mph

The board sports one rear 350 W brushless high performance motor which can go up to 750W maximum output. In comparison with the Boosted Dual+ (2000 W) you might think that this board is pretty weak but it is not. It doesn’t accelerate as fast and doesn’t climb hills as good as the boosted dual+, but the top speed lies just a little bit higher at 24 mph compared to 22 mph. It just takes some more time to get there.  The reason behind the one motor setup is better battery range and less noise.

Battery: You win some

Lightweight and a low output single motor, those are the recipes for insane range. The 36 Volt 10Ah Lithium Polymer battery can keep you going for 25 miles (40 km) on the street version and 16 miles (25 km) on the AT version. With even the AT version more then doubling the range of the best specced Boosted board, we can at least say that this is very impressing.

A recharge will take 4-5 hours. You can opt for an additional fast charger cutting the charging time in half.
The carbon series features ABS regenerative braking which allows the battery to recharge when braking or going down hill.

Controller

The Evolve Remote Control

The controller has a modern look and is ergonomically designed. It shows the battery level and let’s you switch between speed modes. Users say that the remote is not optimal, that the trigger function is not as good as with the Boosted board remote. The breaking is not as intuitive as could be.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a good quality high-end electric longboard, for on -or off-road,  then you can’t go wrong with the carbon series. It looks nice and rides well. The range is insane. The only downside can be the rather slow acceleration compared to other boards in this price region.
