Best Electric Skateboards You Can Buy On Amazon – 2018

DavidElectric Skateboards1 Comment

You've probably just found out about electric skateboards, thought they were awesome and immediately jumped to the conclusion that you should buy one. A quick reflex is to hop on and check out if they aren't selling any.  And whilst that is completely okay, you need to be wary that not all of the boards on the site are worth your money.

As we always try to point out: Spend a little bit more money on your first electric skateboard than you would want to. The false economy (you buy cheap board but end up buying a better more expensive one because the first one wasn't just that) in electric skateboarding world is super real! And sellers on Amazon try to persuade you into believing that their cheaper boards have the same qualities as the more expensive ones.

While certainly not all cheaper boards are bad, you really have to watch out.

And that's why we decided to create this post, in order to help you find the best electric skateboards on the e-commerce platform,  Amazon.

Why buying E-boards from Amazon is interesting

Amazon is great, honestly! A lot of boards even ship with Amazon Prime. And this in an era where a lot of electric skateboard brands have difficulties in even getting their boards to the customers.

Some benefits:

  • check
    Fast shipping times
  • check
    Trusted environment
  • check
    Easy refund handling system

As we said before you do have to watch out. Not every board is as good as you would like it.

Let's get into what boards you should be looking for if you want to buy one from!

The Best Electric Skateboards On Amazon

12. Acton Blink Lite

The Acton Blink Lite is one of Acton's oldest boards on the market. It has seen multiple iterations and should now be a rigid product with more or less no flaws.

Be it one of the cheaper boards, it can be a solid choice depending on your needs. Let me tell you this; it won't get you very far, it won't go up any modestly steep hills and it won't give you any adrenaline rushes.

What it will do is transport you from point A-B with a modest but decent speed whilst skateboarding electric. It is one of the lightest boards on the market so you can easily carry it around. In our eyes it is a perfect campus cruiser.

Let's take a look at some of the specs:

  • Top Speed: 10 mph
  • Range:  5 miles
  • Weight: 7.7 lbs =  very portable

Be careful though, these specs are advertised for riders up to 130 lbs.

11. Liftboard Single / Dual Motor

The Liftboard has been around for a while now and is mostly renowned for being one of the first electric skateboards to be available for purchase at the bigger off-line retailers in the U.S.

It's based around the same board as the Benchweel, but Liftboard made some improvements on the battery and electronics.

Let's take a look at some specs:

Dual Motor

  • Top Speed: 18.6 mph
  • Range: 16 miles, depending on rider weight
  • Weight: 17 lbs

Single Motor

  • Top Speed: 16 mph
  • Range: 16 miles, depending on rider weight
  • Weight: 14.8 lbs

We would always advice to go with the Dual motor setup. You would be bored with the lack of power on the Single!

10. Maxfind Max-c 27"

The Maxfind Max-C 27", together with the Blink lite, are lightest electric skateboards on the market. This makes it an interesting board for people doing shorter commutes or using it to get around campus.

Thanks to the small form factor, lightweight and the use of a hub-motor, it is extremely easy to use without power. There is almost no friction, meaning that when you run out of juice, you can just skateboard back to a powerplug.

  • Top Speed: 13 mph
  • Range: 10 miles, depending on rider weight and mode selected
  • Weight: 7.7 lbs

As you can see from the above stats, the board has better specs than the Blink Lite, making it the better board in that class.

9. Atom Electric B. 10 Skateboard

The Atom Electric B. 10 is a product of Atom Longboards, a longboard brand who decided to enter the electric skateboard market.

At first they started off the same basic Benchweel electric skateboard as Liftboard. Not for long though because now they have a line of 6 different electric skateboards ranging from short ones like the B. 10 to long and powerful ones as the H16D.

Some specs:

  • Top Speed: 20 mph if you replace the bearings with better ones
  • Range: 7 miles
  • Weight: 11 lbs

Users are very fond of this electric skateboard. They are surprised of how good it is compared to the price they paid!

Conclusion: a good small for-factor board with excellent price/quality ratio.

8. Buffalo F 39" Dual

The Buffalo F 39" dual is actually one of the better boards on the platform price/quality wise. You get some of the specs that the big brands have for almost half the price.

The board has 3 modes, Beginner, Cruise and Advanced. This is an awesome feature to learn how the board handles before going full throttle on it.

It's a big board with two big motors and a big battery. This means it can take you far, at a good speed, but it is also heavy.  Let's take a look at some of the specs:

  • Top Speed: 25 mph  in Advanced mode
  • Range: 15.5 miles, depending on rider weight and mode selected
  • Weight: 17 lbs

As you can see, very decent specs! Other users report to have had pleasant experiences with this board.

Conclusion: one of the better choices on the platform.

7. EPIKGO Electric Longboard Dual Motor

The EPIKGO Electric Longboard comes from the brand Epikgo, formerly and still active in the Hoverboard market.

They seem to have come to market with a pretty unique board with a sleek design.

Headlights for safer nighttime riding are included, just as with the Acton Blink line.

It's a fairly lightweight board for sporting a dual motor setup as wel.

  • Top Speed: 25 mph  in Advanced mode
  • Range: 10 miles, depending on rider weight and mode selected
  • Weight: 16.5 lbs

Decent specs for a board of this size. Good top speed, decent range and weight.

Users found this board extremely fun and perfect for beginners to get into the sport at a fair price.

6. Yuneec E-Go 2

The Yuneec E-Go 2 is one of the first boards we reviewed here at ElectricBoarder. It's a decent board price/quality wise and last time we checked the price dropped quite significantly.

Amazon reviews don't lie, it get's a solid 4/5.

The specs:

  • Top Speed: 12.5 mph  in Advanced mode
  • Range: 18 miles, depending on rider weight and mode selected
  • Weight: 22.9 lbs

The range is definitely the most eye-popping spec on this board. 18 miles on a single charge is very impressive! On the downside is the speed. You'll get bored of 12.5 mph very quickly (pun intended).

All in all a decent board from a good company! Never a mistake to go for Yuneec.

5. Koowheel D3X Onyx 2nd Generation

The Koowheel D3X Onyx is the older and better brother of the Koowheel D3M.

Koowheel was off to a mixed start in electric skateboarding country with their first line of boards suffering under a vast array of technical shortcomings.

They have however learnt and improved! The D3X offers better electronics, motors and a newly improved remote.

As with their previous boards the D3X features some  solid specs:

  • Top Speed: 24.8 mph  in Advanced mode
  • Range: 18-20 miles, depending on rider weight and mode selected
  • Weight: +- 20 lbs

Price/Spec/quality wise this might be one of the better combos.

4. Acton Blink S

The Acton Blink S is the entry level board of the Acton Blink series. We at ElectricBoarder use it for short commutes and errands and we love it!

It's very portable, has a decent range and top speed. We really like the built-in led lights making night time rides safer. Those front leds really do a good job!

  • Top Speed: 15 mph  in Advanced mode
  • Range: 7 miles, depending on rider weight and mode selected
  • Weight: 11lbs

Looking for a board at the lower end of the price-sprectrum then this might be the board for you. Acton is a reputable company with good customer service and the board itself is wel built.

3. Acton Blink S2

The Acton Blink S2 really is the bigger bro of the S. It's longer, has a bigger battery capacity and has two instead of one motor to propel you forward.

These facts make the S2 a completer board than it's smaller brother. It's right up there with the higher-end electric longboards, but at a lower price!

The specs won't make you scream but are very decent overall:

  • Top Speed: 18 mph
  • Range: 14  miles, depending on rider weight and mode selected
  • Weight: 14 lbs

Looking for a decent commute board, or just a fun board that's reliable, pretty fast and can take you places? The S2 might be right for you!

2. Inboard M1

The Inboard M1 is one of our favorite boards here at ElectricBoarder. The sleek and stealthy design is marvelous. It's built by a reputable company who really put's time and effort into place ensuring that their boards are top-quality.

One of the best features of this board is the ability to swap battery backs in a breeze. You can easily carry an extra around in your backpack and by doing so doubling your range.

A big upside is the 12 months warranty on manufacturing defects. These defects are very common in e-skate world, so being protected from that is a blessing.

Some users reported that they found the board too stiff, this thanks to the board having a composite core.

Let's take a look at some specs:

  • Top Speed: 22 mph  in Advanced mode
  • Range: 7 miles, depending on rider weight and mode selected
  • Weight: 14.5 lbs

While the Inboard definitely doesn't have the best specs, overall it is an A class board well worth the price.

1. Boosted Board Generation 2 Dual+

On to our number one, The Boosted Board 2. This board ranks number 2 on our best electric skateboards you can buy list, but could have easily gotten the number 1 spot. If you are looking for the best board on Amazon, we can definitely say that it is this beast.

Boosted might be the most well known brand in the industry. This because they were one of the first to deliver a high quality mass produced electric skateboard for the consumer market. And also because they receive a lot of support from famous YouTubers from the likes of Casey Neistat.

Coming out with their Generation 2 boards mid 2016 they had some battery issues resulting them to recall all boards that had been sold.
They now have completely recovered from that and are successfully selling!

As with the Inboard M1, you can now swap your batteries. It's not that straightforward but nevertheless a nice feature to have.

It's not for it's crazy specs that they claim the number one spot, but because of the quality, the way the board handles and feels and their customer support.

  • Top Speed: 22 mph  in Advanced mode
  • Range: 6 miles, depending on rider weight and mode selected
  • Weight: 15 lbs

Choosing for a Boosted is never a bad idea.

The amount of electric skateboards for sale on the e-commerce platform Amazon has seen a serious boost in numbers. You really need to watch out and make sure you do not go for the cheapest option that looks good.

  • Go for a brand that has been around for a while, ensuring customer support if something breaks
  • Don't be afraid to lay down some extra money for better quality, it will benefit you in the long run
  • Make sure to buy a board that fits your needs (commute, fun, short/long)

On that note we hope that you are now well informed for your purchasing decision!

Happy riding!

  1. How about Evolve skateboards? They are also available on Amazon and are probably one of the best out there right now (pretty expensive but still). I wish Meepo will be available on Amazon once.
